An Erin Kelleher investigation · Reads as a standalone
Mike Whitmore goes to the park where he proposed after receiving a message from his wife: I’m ready to talk. Our spot. Before leaving, he tells their daughter, I’ll call you after. By morning, he is dead.
Nikki Whitmore leaves home on Thursday night. Two days later, her husband Mike receives a message asking him to meet at Foxmere Park—the place where he proposed twenty-two years earlier.
Before leaving, Mike tells their daughter he’ll call afterward.
The next morning, a jogger finds him dead near the bench where their marriage began.
Detective Erin Kelleher starts with the message that brought Mike to the park and a simple question: who was he expecting to meet?
